Continental Textiles was formed in 1985 as a Blanket manufacturer serving the needs of Zambian Blanket market. Geetanjali Woollens established since 1975 in India has been serving the needs of the entire African continent with Blankets for more than a decade now. One of the feathers in its cap was the implementation of the ISO 9002 quality systems.

Kariba is a composite unit manufacturing blankets and rugs right from the fibre stage having our own spinning, weaving and finishing right under one roof to ensure strict quality control and so that you can get a good quality product at a very cost effective price. Currently we have an annual production capacity in excess of 750,000 Blankets and have plans to double this capacity within the near future.

We are already supplying our Blankets for the local consumer throughout the Zambian market. Apart from manufacturing blankets for the local market we are also making high quality Blankets to  the Army, Airforce, Police, Prisons, Relief Agencies and other NGO’s.

As a private sector participant with a conscience our responsibility extends to providing sustainable production so that we can be  part of a swiftly executable solution. As a socially aware corporate our Non-Discriminatory policy gives equal employment opportunity and trains and promotes its staff from within without bringing in too many expatriates. Currently we employ in excess of 150 staff and workers.


Kariba Textiles have exported blankets throughout Africa including DRC, Malawi, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Namibia, Angola & Botswana. Kariba Textiles is able to succeed in this market for two reasons: they produce quality blankets at competitive prices.
